Peter Carey was born in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, and now lives in New York.  He is the author of 14 novels (including one for children), two volumes of short stories, and two books on travel. Amongst other prizes, Carey has won the Booker Prize twice (for Oscar and Lucinda and True History of the Kelly Gang), the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize twice (for Jack Maggs and True History of the Kelly Gang), and the Miles Franklin Literary Award three times (for BlissOscar and Lucinda and Jack Maggs).  He is an officer of the Order of Australia and a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Literature and the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Jacob Elordi is an Australian actor, best known for his role of ‘Nate Jacobs’ in the critically acclaimed ‘HBO’ show, ‘Euphoria.’ Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Jacob was fascinated with the world of acting since childhood. He began acting during his school years and participated in many stage shows. One of his initial acting projects was a musical called ‘Seussical,’ where he played the role of ‘Cat in the Hat’ and sang for his part, too. As he grew up, his love for acting intensified. He was highly inspired by Heath Ledger, another Australian actor who had already made his mark in Hollywood. In 2017, he made his big-screen debut with a small, uncredited role in the Hollywood film ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.’ The same year, he made his full-fledged acting debut with the comedy–drama film ‘Swinging Safari,’ which featured him as ‘Rooster.’ His life changed after he appeared as ‘Noah Flynn’ in the ‘Netflix’ romantic comedy ‘The Kissing Booth.’
